A workbench for the coding agents you already use.

Run Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode in their own TUIs or as Integrated conversations, signed in with your own accounts. Each project’s agents, worktrees, diffs and history stay in one window.

A desktop app for Linux, or a background service you can open in any browser. macOS and Windows are in progress.

Features

  1. Or the same agent, as a conversation.

Open it Integrated for permission cards, plans and diffs. The native CLI still does the work.

  2. It starts helpers.

Agents start helpers, message them and wait for their reports. Each one nests under the agent that started it.

  3. Your machines, working together.

Pair Patterm on your dev box and your desktop. Their agents can message each other and wait for replies, and you see every agent on both machines in one window.

  4. It can draw you a chart.

Integrated agents can answer with charts, tables, diagrams and choices. They send the numbers, and Patterm draws them to match the app.

  5. When it needs you, you’ll know.

Permission prompts, questions and finished work land in one list, and notifications can follow you to your phone.

  6. Or ask what’s waiting.

A Codex-powered assistant keeps track of every agent in every project. Talk to it by text or by voice.

  7. You review before anything lands.

Give a helper its own worktree, then read its changes file by file. Patterm never commits for you.

  8. Plans that outlive the chat.

Todos with blockers and owners, and Markdown scratchpads that agents read and write too.

  9. Every old conversation, in one place.

Your Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode history in one list, including sessions started outside Patterm. Search all of it from the top bar.

  10. Know what’s left before you start.

Usage shows what’s left of your Claude Code and Codex 5-hour and weekly limits, when each resets, and the tokens you’ve used.

  11. Work that carries on while you’re away.

Routines start an agent on a schedule with your instructions, and notify you when it reports.

Run it wherever you want.

Patterm runs on any Linux machine with your code and your signed-in agents. Keep it on your laptop, or put it on a machine that never sleeps and reach it from anywhere.

  1. On your laptop

The desktop app. Agents work while it’s open, and you can resume any conversation after you quit.

    patterm
  2. On a machine that stays on

A background service on a dev box, home server or VM. Close the laptop and your agents carry on.

    patterm --headless
  3. From anywhere

Open the service in any browser, or install it on your phone with push notifications, over private HTTPS on your tailnet.

    patterm --headless --tailscale-serve

FAQ

Is Patterm an agent?

No. It hosts agent CLIs that you install and sign in to yourself. It doesn’t call model APIs or change how those agents work.

Which agents does it support?

Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode, plus any shell command. Agents run in a terminal or as an Integrated conversation.

Does it run on macOS or Windows?

Not yet. Linux is supported today. Desktop apps for macOS and Windows are in progress, and you can beta test untested builds from the download section.

Can it run on another machine?

Yes. Run it as a background service on a dev box, home server or VM, and open it from any browser. With Tailscale, that includes your phone, over private HTTPS.

Can agents on different machines work together?

Yes. Pair them in Settings with a one-time code; one of the two has to run the background service. In a project linked on both, agents can see what the other machine’s agents are doing and message them. They can’t start, stop or type into agents on the other machine.

What happens when I close my laptop?

With the desktop app, agents can’t work while the laptop sleeps, and quitting Patterm stops them. You can resume any conversation later. With the service on another machine, they keep going.

What happens when I close the browser?

Nothing stops. Agents, processes, timers and imports keep running, and the next browser to connect picks up the same terminals.

Does it commit or open pull requests?

Not on its own. Agents use their own git and CLI workflows, and Patterm only records the links they attach.

Where is my data kept?

In SQLite on your own machine. Raw terminal output isn’t recorded by default.

Give your agents a workbench.

Patterm is a desktop app and background service for Linux. Install it where your code lives, sign in to your agents as usual, and get to work.
